1. What type of oils do you cook with? Do you use MSG? Are there any dairy products in this? - Top

Our chefs use only the most wholesome fresh products. They are quite experienced in providing for any special dietary requirements you or your guests might have.

2. What exactly is Artist and Tour catering? - Top

We provide catering service to many nationally recognized` artists, from rock to country to R&B and symphonies. This entails providing all hospitality needs for the artists and their crews before, during, and after the shows. Whether on the road or here in town, it is our job to provide these needs in a timely and professional manner. Information for an artist's needs are provided through a "rider," which is sent to us and outlines the progression and specific needs for each day.

3. What does it take to be a part of the Spectrum team? - Top

The key word here is team. At Spectrum, everyone works together even if that means getting involved and helping a department that you don't normally work in. You must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and possibly travel due to the services that Spectrum provides. Members of our Spectrum team must have determination in providing the best service possible. It is a very rewarding feeling to be a part of the Spectrum Team, knowing you just helped pull off an event no matter what size it was.

4. I have a local charitable group and would like to work an event. What can you offer us? - Top

Spectrum often turns to local non-profit groups to staff our concession stands. We provide all the necessities to operate (food, supplies, etc.) and need the organization to provide the staff. To compensate the hours and work they put in, we in turn pay that organization a percentage of the sales within their stand.

5. Do you have a list of references from your previous clients to call regarding their experiences? - Top

We are more than pleased to be able to provide you with a list of references upon request. Spectrum has designed a biography that not only outlines our references, but also explains in detail each division of our company.

6. What are your payment terms and conditions for my catered event? - Top

You will be required to pay at least a 50% deposit of the estimated charges for your event. After the event, you will receive a final bill and payment will be due within 10 days. Invoices not paid after 30 days will be subject to a 1.5% service charge, minimum of $25. We accept checks as well as all major credit cards.

7. How long have you been in business? - Top

Spectrum was started in February of 1992 as a very small company working out of a garage. It has now grown into a company with a team that has more than 167 years of hospitality experience spread among them. One of our biggest catering accounts to this day is The Shell Houston Open. It started in 1984 with the team that actually formed Spectrum eight years later.

8. I am looking to have my party catered but need a location. Do you know places available? - Top

Yes, we have several venues for your consideration. Each venue is unique in its own right, and together we can assist you in finding the location best suited to your needs.

9. Is Spectrum insured while setting up our party/catered event? - Top

Spectrum is fully insured, including Workman's Comp and Liquor Liability. Should it be necessary, Spectrum will have your event as an additional insured on our insurance policy.

10. Who can I speak with regarding renting the Compass Bank Club, theatres, school food service, etc.? - Top

We have managers for each venue. Upon receiving your phone call, our receptionist will direct you to the proper person.

11. Do you prepare all your own food? - Top

Absolutely. We have a creative kitchen staff, directed by our Executive Chef and assisted by four Sous Chefs. Each of our kitchen team members is individually talented and together, they prepare food in an original and unique manner.

12. What happens if more people show up to our party than guaranteed...will we run out of food? - Top

Spectrum provides for a 5% overage; however, we cannot stress enough the importance of an accurate guarantee. We are certainly not in the business to "run out of food" and will accommodate your unexpected guests by whatever means necessary. You will be billed for any overages.

13. Do you provide party trays and/or box lunch services? - Top

Yes to both. Our catering department will work with you to help determine and satisfy your hospitality needs.

14. What size groups do you specialize in? Can you recommend a good caterer? - Top

We specialize in groups of 200 guests or more, but can certainly provide an intimate catered event for any number of people. Spectrum provides customized catering events and there is no one like us, therefore we are unable to recommend you to another source that will provide you with similar services.

15. Do you have a set of standard menus that can be mailed or faxed? - Top

No, Spectrum does not have a set of standard menus as we strive to create a menu that will be unique to your event. We will make sure it meets your needs as well as your budget.

16. Do you do weddings? - Top

No. We are pleased to offer our catering services to you, specializing in groups of 200 guests or more. However, we are not wedding coordinators and do not intend to be. If you have special wedding day catering needs, we are here to assist you in creating a special day by providing you with a creative menu and special presentation.

17. Are you a rental company? Do you rent tables/tents/chairs? Is there a delivery fee? - Top

Yes, we are a rental company, renting tables, tents, and chairs only. We do not rent catering supplies, wedding supplies, or equipment. There is a delivery/pickup charge, depending on your location. You are welcome to pick up and return the rentals to our warehouse.
